Nozzle review: ALBUZ ATR

Albuz ATR 80 ATR and 60

13 August 2019

The ALBUZ® ATR hollow cone nozzle is a standout performer for precision horticultural spraying. It’s suitable for orchard and vineyard spraying such as oranges, olives, berries or grapes and is ideal for fungicide and insecticide application. In this article we review the top three reasons why the ALBUZ® ATR nozzle is a Spray Shop Australia favourite.

Ceramic strength

Ceramic nozzles offer excellent resistance to wear, abrasion and chemicals. The centre of the ALBUZ® ATR is made from a specific pink alumina oxide ceramic material that is almost as hard as diamond. The wear resistance is far higher than that of other materials such as stainless steel, brass or plastics, with ceramic nozzles providing three times the life expectancy of a polymer nozzle on average.

Precision

Correctly calibrated and used nozzles will optimise flow rate precision and reduce chemical costs, which also reduces the ecological impact of spraying. The ALBUZ® hollow cone nozzle produces fine droplets and allows for high pressure spraying while maintaining nozzle performance and precision. The polished ceramic surfaces of the internal components in the nozzle ensures perfect sealing of the swirl chamber to give precise flowrate. The nozzle is also easily dismantled for cleaning.

Quality supplier

The ATR is produced by ALBUZ®, a leader in the production of ceramic spray nozzles. ALBUZ® have been operating for more than 45 years, developing and manufacturing nozzles from their plant in Normandy, France. Their facilities are vertically integrated, giving them complete control over the entire manufacturing process: powder preparation, shaping, heat treatment, machining, finishing, assembling and inspection.
